"Nukupoka" has been accepted by the Consumer Affairs Agency, Government of Japan as Foods with Function Claims.

This product contains monoglucosyl hesperidin. It has been reported that monoglucosyl hesperidin can maintain hands and feet temperature by improving blood flow (peripheral blood flow), which can decrease when air or room temperature is low during the cold season, or when using air conditioning during summer.

What are “Foods with Function Claims”?
Before this system was in place, making function claims on food labels had only been allowed for government-approved Foods for Specified Health Uses(FOSHU) and for Foods with Nutrient Function Claims(FNFC) that complied with the specifications and standards designated by the government.
This new type of Foods with Health Claims, called Foods with Function Claims, was introduced in April 2015 in order to make more available products clearly labeled with certain nutritional or health functions and to enable consumers to make more informed choices.

What is hesperidin?
Hesperidin is a polyphenol and is abundant in citrus fruits such as tangerines.Since it is mainly extracted from the peel and the pith, it is a difficult ingredient to ingest through consumption. Since ancient times, the fruit and the peel of citruses have been used as a warming resource, as a winter vitamin supplement, and to warm the body in the case of Yuzu baths.
